What We Do
What We Do
Monterey County Farm Bureau
Monterey County Farm Bureau supports the people that work the land. Our organization serves as a collective voice for farmers and ranchers and provides information, benefits and services to our members.
Farm Bureau cooperates with other agricultural organizations to fulfill its purpose of working for the solutions to the problems of the farm, the farm home and the rural community.
We fight for sensible land-use policies. We protect the county’s water supply and local water quality. We encourage regulators to adopt effective but fair, technically feasible rules and to evenly enforce those rules. We empower our members with information. We reach out to many different organizations and entities to seek solutions to often complex problems. We work to share agriculture with those who may only know their food from the grocery store. And we offer individual farmers and ranchers the opportunity to unite with others who share their concerns and interests, so they can speak with one powerful voice at the local, state and national levels.
Monterey County Farm Bureau was recognized as a County of The Year award recipient at the California Farm Bureau’s Annual Meeting for six consecutive years and seven of the last eight years, in the areas of Activities of Excellence: Membership, Policy Implementation, Leadership, Ag Education, and Public Relations.
California Farm Bureau

California Farm Bureau has numerous committees that offer opportunities for local farmers and ranchers to have a voice in statewide public policy development.

American Farm Bureau
AFBF is the unified national voice of agriculture, working through our grassroots organization to enhance and strengthen the lives of rural Americans and to build strong, prosperous agricultural communities.
Farm Bureau is unique in that all local members have voices in both state and federal policy issues. Grass-roots in nature, public policy positions start at the County Farm Bureau level, are considered for state policy positions, and ultimately are incorporated into federal policy positions. This gives the farmer and rancher in our County a voice at many levels of government and agency policies.
