Agriculture contributes

billions of dollars to the local economy and provides jobs to people throughout our communities.  But as you drive through the Monterey Bay region it is also obvious that agriculture provides a beautiful working landscape, rich history, and deep-rooted heritage that are unique treasures the people of this region enjoy.  The rich agricultural history and diversity of cultures and languages formed the foundation upon which cutting edge technology, modern agronomic sciences, and world-class production practices now define farming in Monterey County. As you visit our county, be sure to sample the sights, sounds, and tastes of world-class agriculture, the cooking it inspires, and the uniqueness of our natural beauty that includes the Marine Sanctuary, Big Sur, and the Pinnacles.
