Quincie Gourley

Quincie is a dedicated professional with a passion for agriculture and marketing, leveraging her Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Communication from Cal Poly, SLO. Her journey in the fresh produce industry has seen her excel as a Marketing Communication Manager for Tanimura & Antle, where she adeptly handles brand identity, social media, and website enhancement. Coming from the Salinas Valley, Quincie’s roots run deep, reflected in her active involvement in various agricultural organizations and community initiatives including, California Salinas Rodeo, Salinas Valley Women for Ag Chapter, Everett Alvarez FFA Advisory Board, IFPA Young Professional’s Advisory Board, and Salinas Valley Relay for Life Planning Committee. On her free time, Quincie enjoys going on adventures to find new photography locations, exploring, and finding a great matcha latte!

Vanessa Ramirez

Vanessa was born and raised in Humboldt County. She attended UC Davis and majored in Sustainable Agriculture with an emphasis in Agriculture & Ecology. During college, she was a barn resident at the UC Davis Swine Facility on campus. After graduating, she continued her love for animal agriculture in the Sonoma/Marin area. Vanessa worked on a goat/sheep farmstead, a water buffalo dairy and was actively involved with the Young Farmers & Ranchers chapter there. She now lives in San Benito County and works in the medical diagnostic industry producing polyclonal antibodies for amino assay drug test kits. She assists with daily herd and health management of a large flock of sheep and goats, as well as the laboratory processing to prepare the antibody for further diagnostic uses. In her free time she loves adventuring with her dog Harper, doing CrossFit, hunting, and in a non-COVID world- concerts and traveling.

David Anderson

David graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in Agricultual Systems Management, which he has used as in cultivation of crops at different companies. David is currently employed by Big-W Sales, based in the Salinas area office. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, gardening, and wine tasting, along with walking his black lab.

Marley Violini

Marley Violini is serving as the Secretary for the CCYF&R. Something that Marley often tells people is to “get your boots dirty,” meaning that one should embrace opportunities and interests regardless of background. In her opinion, most knowledge is gained through hands on experiences and learning on the job. Can you tell that she graduated from Cal Poly? The phrase, “get your boots dirty” takes on a quite literally meaning for her sometimes. Marley’s full-time job is working as the Operations Manager for JV Farms Organic, a custom farming operation in the Salinas Valley. However, farming is not her only connection to the agricultural industry. She likes to say that her life is a mixture of “lettuce and livestock.” Marley has been fortunate to experience the cattle side as well through her boyfriend’s family’s cow-calf operation. Although Marley may not have grown up in agriculture, she truly loves the industry! Marley looks forward to continuing to serve as an “agvocate” through YF&R.

Martha Haro

Martha was born and raised in Salinas, CA, also known as the “Salad Bowl of the World” for the leafy greens grown in the region. She attended Hartnell College where she obtained an Associate in Agricultural Production and an Associate in Natural Science; later transferred to California State University of Monterey Bay with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and a Minor in Environmental Science. During her school career she was heavily involved in the Ag Ambassadors Club at Hartnell, leading her to present the 2 + 2-year Education Plan at the National Science Foundation in Washington DC. Creating a bridge between Hartnell and CSUMB with their new Agriculture Bachelor’s degree.

Martha is currently employed by 3 Star Lettuce, as their Spring mix/Specialty/CEA Sales Coordinator. Even though her current role is primarily indoors she is not afraid of getting her hands dirty. Working with USDA in their research department and as Product Development Representative for 3 Star has made her a well-rounded individual. On her free time, Martha enjoys nature walks with her dog Luna and spending quality time with the family!
