Water is a deep and wide topic here in Monterey County. Farming and the production of food crops depends upon the availability of water. But there are other competing needs as well. Farmers in the Monterey Bay region are very aware of the importance of a long-term, reliable water supply and good water quality for everyone. Monterey County Farm Bureau works directly with growers and groups of growers in their watersheds to consider critically important water issues of the day. Water has always been a strong part of our work with and for our members. Farm Bureau’s Water & Land Use Committee reaches out to collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups and seeks to build partnerships that allow us to do even more for our members.
